Things to check out around Camp Nou?

The stadium is just a few kilometres outside of the famous city centre of Barcelona - all of which is accessible through their highly efficient public transport system – so there are really boundless options. For me, the most inspiring and must-see sight in the whole city is La Sagrada Familia. Designed by renowned architect Antoni Gaudi, it has been a work in progress for over 130 years - simply put, it is jawdropping and spectacular. Get your tickets online to skip the queues and plan to spend several hours there.

Best restaurants near Camp Nou?

Simply hop back on the Metro and travel in to town. In my opinion there is no single "best” area to get food in Barcelona - there are tremendous bars and restaurants in abundance, making it virtually impossible to navigate around the city without finding somewhere to whet your appetite. Whenever I'm in the city I just move around until something takes my fancy - if you are ever in doubt, just ask one of the friendly locals and they will doubtlessly point you in the right direction.

Best Insider tip at Camp Nou?

Barcelona is one of the most prominent cities for pickpockets, scam artists and thieves. Keep a very close eye on any valuable possessions and don't go flashing your cash unnecessarily. Though this practice isn't too prolific at the stadium itself, even if you are just passing through the city centre you need to have your wits about you. It's a phenomenal city, but this singular drawback cannot really be overlooked, so be careful.

Best Bars around Camp Nou?

A trip to the strip is what is recommended by many fans as the pregame drinking area - most notably la Travessera de les Corts, just off the L3 Green metro line. It's where many fans congregate, as there is a good selection of sports bars (or bars with sports on the TV, at least), varied and delicious options in terms of Craft and local beers and, of course, a range of slightly expensive but very edible pre-match food.

Camp Nou seating?

Ticket prices can be anywhere from €30-€100 for the cheapest match category, category D. For category A matches, a seat costs between €60 and €160. There are a higher rated matches and these fetch an even more astronomical price. However, once you're inside the stadium you might forget all about the price. It's spectacular. The seats are comfortable and the vast majority offer excellent use of the pitch. It's hard to put a price on seeing the Barcelona's attacking prowess in action, but unless you are a big football fan, it may not be worth the money.

Best Food and Drink at Camp Nou?

Barcelona expressly forbid the consumption of alcohol inside the stadium. Whether it's pregame, in the stands or even during halftime, the only beer sold on site is alcohol free. You may not bring your own alcohol with you. Just outside the stadium there are two places to buy food which are still on-site: Pans and Company, and La Carpa. Since these can be quite busy, you may be better replaced following in the footsteps of some locals and taking a pre-prepared lunch with you.

What to expect from the Camp Nou crowd?

The crowd at the Barcelona match is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. With the away fans housed in the south-east corner, the stadium is packed to the rafters with excited and jubilant Barcelona fans. The noise they make is incredible, and they are filled with a confident joy in knowing that theirs is one of the most prolific and successful football club in the world. They are also a friendly and entertaining bunch, for the most part. If you get the chance to see a big match – like El Clasico - then say yes. Just say yes.

How do I get to Camp Nou?

If you have chosen to collect your tickets at the stadium, then you'll have two allow plenty of time to pick them up. Otherwise, you should still allow plenty of time, purely to avoid getting stuck in the people traffic. All of Collblanc and Badal (line 3) and Les Corts and Maria Christina (line 5) put you within each a few minutes' walk of the stadium. If arriving by car, there is some parking available, but again it is recommended to arrive as early as possible.
