The Olympiastadion is vast, with a capacity of over 70,000! One would think that a stadium this big would be suited more to Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund but Hertha Belin regularly sell out their home games. Although this stadium hosted the 1936 Olympics – it underwent a 45 million euro transformation for the 2006 world cup, ensuring it's up there with some of the top stadiums in the world. The sight lines from wherever you sit are fantastic, though the running track around the pitch does take away impact a little bit – you are always a little far from the action.The enormousness of the stadium and the fact that all the stands are spit up into different sections make for a minefield of different prices – however, spending around €20 should get you a seat behind the goals, and a good seat near the half way line can be secured for around €40.

Ticket prices vary in a wide range from 15€ for the east stands (home fans) and 65€ for the main stands. Nevertheless, you can get very good seats from 24€. The Olympic Stadium usually never completely sells out, which means you can even go there five minutes before a game and still get decent tickets. Exceptions are the matches against Bayern Munich and BVB Dortmund. Prices are higher and tickets might be sold out in advance.

Unlike many Bundesliga grounds, there is no standing area at the Olympiastadion, though if you choose to occupy the away end or the Ostkurve, you might not notice the difference as everyone will stand anyway. The view everywhere is good, though the running track means seats are quite far from the pitch. Hertha tickets start at €17 and the best seats in the house are only €32. Games rarely sell out, but advance purchase is advised as tickets are sometimes not sold on matchdays. Buy online or at one of the six fan shops in the city. If you buy in advance, your match ticket is also your train ticket to and from the game too.
