The Compass Bar is a unique little bar that is found in the old part of the city of Berne. If you didn't know where it was, you could easily pass it by as it blends in so well with its surroundings. It's not as flashy as many of the other bars that are found nearby, but it offers an authentic experience whether you are into beers or mixed drinks. The staff is very polite, helpful and welcoming and is a great spot to enjoy your evening.Marta is a bar that is a great place to grab a drink with your friends on a midweek night or enjoy a weekend dance. It is very warm and cosy, especially in the cold winter months and has a nice vibe with the low hanging lights, nice furniture and amazing brick walls and arches. They have many local beers on tap so you can experience some of the local blends and all of the staff is amazing. Make sure to try out some of their experimental beers.

If you are looking to do our pre-match drinking as close to the stadium as possible - 'Eleven' will fit the bill nicely. Actually at the Stade De Suisse itself, the bar is great to drink inside or out of the terrace and with live games and build up being shown, as well as a host of 'Young Boys' memorabilia on the walls, it's a great place to get pumped for the match!Kapitel is a great bar/lounge/club to head to after the game has finished. One of the coolest places in town it is always busy at the weekends so if you would rather sit than stand, I would recommend heading there earlier rather than later. Before you leave the city, Bern's Barbiere is worth a stop – they take beer and brewing seriously here and have an extensive tap list.
