Villa Park is a home fan's dream when it comes to pubs: there are loads within close proximity to the venue, each with a thriving atmosphere and loads of beers on tap. There's no single "best” venue, so just go with your instincts. For away fans, The Whitton Arms is a decent shout, but costs £2 to get in. There aren't many options for taking on good quality ale, sadly, so you might be best to head into town proper after the match to get the good stuff!

Sometimes the away fans won't get served alcohol, but otherwise there is Carlsberg and Somersby Cider for everyone at £3.80 or so a pint.

So there aren't too many good pub options in the vicinity of Villa Park suitable for the travelling support, however there's a golden nugget of information shared by a few away fans: drive in and park at the Star City entertainment complex. It's totally free, and there's no shortage of food and drink inside to prepare you for the match! It's about 25 minutes' walk to the stadium, but you can always get a taxi too.

There's not really any parking at the venue, and while street parking is an option, it's mostly down to luck whether or not you get anything. Earlier you arrive, the better your chances. The travel with the least effort is to make your way to Birmingham New Street and then catch a service to Aston or Whitton stations. Both are only a few minutes' from stadium.

It's barely a ten minute walk from the stadium and offers a unique blend of Asian and British cuisine, so there's a meal for every mood!A little less well-known is Modu, a little Asian restaurant whose menu is filled to the brim with authentic Korean dishes and the staff can tell you all about the customs and history of Korean gastronomy. Fascinating place, with great food.

What to expect from the Villa Park crowd?

In general, you can rely on Villa to produce a crowd that wants to win, and wants to show every bit of support for the lads on pitch that they can! There's no real separation of home and away fans, so if things do get a bit heated, then trouble could ensue. It's usually more about banter and taking the mick out of each other though, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about besides the colossal noise!
