Bristol is a city known for its excellent ales, ciders and friendly pubs. While there are a few earmarked specifically for home fans (like Hen & Chicken or BS3 Bar) within a stone’s throw of the stadium, there’s equally no shortage of ‘away friendly’ pubs.

The Cottage Inn is down by the water and has a great drinks selection to match its lovely views. If you’re all about convenience, consider the Wetherspoons just outside of Temple Meads train station, the Knights Templar, which is busy, cheap and friendly.

Bristol is a great city – I haven’t heard anyone really who has had a bad word to say against it. The pubs around the ground are great and home fans should get themselves down to are the ‘Bristol Sports Bar and Grill’ – a stones throw from the stadium itself. As well as nearby ‘The Rising Sun’ and ‘Coopers Arms’ – both a 5 minute stroll away.

The club has come out and said that away fans should stay away from pubs on ‘North Street’ – but there are plenty of options for away fans, The Nova Scotia is always popular as well as Bedminster Cricket Club!

A little further away (still only a 10 minute walk), is the Orchard – voted Britain’s best cider pub in 2009!
