Great American Ball Park is a venue in or near Cincinnati that is most often used for Baseball
The Reds give out great unique bobble-heads, posters, baseball cards, and regular items such as shirts, hats, and mini coolers.
Lachey's is a good sports bar that caters to the Reds. They have good drink specials and have pretty decent food. Toby Keith' steakhouse is fun to dance and drink beforehand but the food is pretty awful and the service is as well.
The Reds have had a storied tradition from the Big Red Machine years to the Red's October in the early 1990's. They have had a host of great all-stars and hall of famers come through the organization. The fans love to tell you this and are very proud of their rich history.
The team store is located at the front entrance and sells everything Reds. They also have some unique pictures and items from some of the earlier years including autographs and baseball cards. You can also get your jerseys, hats, and t-shirts here.
There are a couple one dollar concession stands, offering 12 oz. sodas, "kids" hot dogs (about the size you'd find in a standard grocery store pack) and "kids" popcorn, each for a dollar. Sometimes the line can be very long but this is a good way to feed adults and kids all at a minor league baseball price.
The Reds Hall of Fame & Museum is pretty cool to see. The building offers quite the collection of Reds' artifacts that is well worth the admission price of $10. There are also banners from their Championship years with Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, and Pete Rose as well as Red's October with Eric Davis, Chris Sabo, and the great pitching staff they had.
The parking ranges from $5 - $20 depending on how far you want to park away. Parking by Pete Rose way is around $10.
Taste of Belgiam is a cool waffle house that sells crepes and waffles which are out of the norm. Morton's steakhouse is also a good place to get a steak but it can be quite expensive.
The Reds do a great job of staying loyal to Pete Rose, the Hit King. You can see little eggs that point to Pete Rose throughout the stadium, like the rose garden, the 4192 bat/ball photo, and the fact that the bats atop the outfield smokestacks totals to his #14. Yes,as of today he is still banned from baseball but here in Cincinnati he is still their Charlie Hustle and part of the Big Red Machine.
It is fine to deal with the scalpers and you can usually get a pretty good deal, especially if you buy more than a couple of tickets.
I like sitting in the first few rows of the upper deck because there are only five rows and you get a great view of the stadium, river, and entire field. They are also much cheaper than the lower sections and if you feel they are too far you can move down after the third inning.
The stadium sits between two major highways that border Cincinnati's downtown (I-71 to the east, I-75 to the west). You can see the stadium right here and its easy to get too.
The Great American Ball Park is all that and more. They have local fan favorites like Frisch's Big Boy, Penn Station subs and Larosa's pizza which is a nice touch, especially for the visiting fans that cannot get this. They also have the regular hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, and fries.
The safety at the ballpark and surrounding area is okay and they have made the area a lot nicer than it used to be. There are shops and places to eat which make it a fun atmosphere.
