Best Food and Drink at Esprit Arena?

Esprit Arena is a venue in Dusseldorf

The Esprit Arena, being built in 2004, has plenty of kiosks on the concourses for food and drinks so the queues are minimal which is always a big plus! The food is your standard German footballing food with plenty of Fries, Hot Dogs, Pretzels and Burgers. You can wash it down with an ice cold beer that you can bring to your seat! The beers are €4 but you will need to pay a €1 surcharge for the cup – which can be refunded at the end of the game.

Go for the region's specialty, the "Currywurst”! A sausage drowned in a spicy curry sauce, delicious – no wonder we Germans love it. Of course, they also offer the traditional "Bratwurst”, too. To drink there are all kinds of softdrinks, water and, obviously we are in Germany, beer! All beverages except water are 4€ which is pretty much average in German stadiums.

Inside the ground, you're not really in for any surprises. The stadium is as corporate as they come and in true corporate style, they've outsourced the catering to a generic provider of bratwursts, chips and bretzels. They'll set you back around €3.A small concession to local tastes is the beer, which is the Düsseldorf speciality known as Alt. It's brewed totally differently to normal pilsner and has a darker colour and crisper taste. It's really good and certainly not to be missed.
