St Pauli fans are known all around Germany for creating an atmosphere inside the Stadium like no other. They have taken on a Pirate theme and so you will see the Skull and Crossbones all around the stadium in the form of flags and banners. Think the Oakland Raider of Germany. However, in spite of all their appearances, the fans are a very welcoming and respectful bunch – holding anti-racist, anti-Nazi and anti-sexist protests in recent years!

St. Pauli fans are crazy! You will most likely never visit a match where the stadium is not entirely filled up and where not every seat is taken. And then, the fans will do the rest. Chanting, singing, partying... the atmosphere in St. Pauli is more than Bundesliga 1 level and will create an unforgettable experience at the Millerntor Stadion. Just by looking at the team's icon (a pirate skull) you will realize that this place is somewhat... different, but special. Get your white and brown colors on and support the home team with everything you can, the locals will love you!

St Pauli are all about the crowd rather than the game. The club made a break from the right-wing hooliganism associated with the German game in the 80s and adopted a strictly leftist, anti-fascist outlook in keeping with the local squatting scene and general liberal outlook of the St Pauli district. Thus, wearing/doing/saying anything that could be remotely construed as racist, nationalist, sexist or homophobic is really heavily not recommended. Other than that, these are by far the nicest supporters you'll find anywhere in Germany - in fact, plenty of people support St Pauli because of the supporters, and would consider themselves St Pauli fans rather than football fans.
