Taco Cabana is my favorite local Tex-Mex joint and has great tacos and fajitas. I also like Whataburger for a good hamburger and quick meal. McCormick and Schmicks is a nice sit down place if you have a lot of time.

The Rocket fans are very nice and knowledgeable about their team and the NBA. They get a diverse fan base on any given night and its a fun atmosphere and if you are from the visiting team be ready to get booed.
You can check out the local rodeo if it is in town, the theater, shopping, great tex-mex, and an Astros or Texans game. There are also a lot of parks, lakes, and open fields to play in.

Get to the game early and make sure you sit in your seat during the pre-game introductions since they let rockets off with smoke and turn down the lights like its a real rocket launch. It is especially cool if you have kids with you.
