KCOM Stadium Sports Fan Tips

KCOM Stadium is a venue in or near Hull that is most often used for Soccer

How do I get to KCOM Stadium?

The 20-minute walk from Hull Paragon Railway Station is definitely the simplest and least stressful route. You can get the train in from anywhere, and means you can sample some fine beverages en route.Hull accommodate drivers better than virtually any other club, with a fantastic car park right by the stadium. It only costs £5 for the day, so you can park up early and head back into town for the atmosphere if you like. Leaving will take a while, of course, but it's no worse than most.

Best Food and Drink at KCOM Stadium?

You can get your hands on some Carling (lager) and Marston's (ale) inside the stadium, though if you like a tasty beverage, might be better to get it before and after the match. It's also worth noting that away fans can be refused alcohol, especially for rivalries or big matches where the adrenaline is running high.Downstairs, the food is exactly what you'd expect: burgers, pies and sausage rolls for £3-4 a pop. Nothing fancy, but nice and hot.

Best restaurants near KCOM Stadium?

If you want a taste of standard "British” fare, then there's lots to choose from. For those with a more adventurous palate after a game, there are two "best picks” as far as I know: The Madras and The Aegean. The Madras is a curry house from heaven – the food is perfectly spiced and everything is cooked exactly like you'd expect, without exception. The Aegean is a bit different, offering fresh, unique Greek-style meals. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny.

KCOM Stadium seating?

For the away fans, KCOM is one of the better stadiums for offering good viewing spots. Seated in the North Stand and North-East corner, the view of the match is excellent, if a little distant from the action. A big thing for me is legroom and comfort, and the chairs at KCOM Stadium deliver that very well, earning them a huge thumbs up! Ticket prices are on the website, around £30 per game.

Best Pubs around KCOM Stadium?

If you're worried there won't be an away-friendly bar located close to the stadium, then worry no more! There's a bar called Pitch Side which is actually at the venue, and you can't do much better than that. There are TVs for live sports and plenty of pint choices. Only caveat is that it gets a fair bit of traffic, so you want to get there early to secure a seat or even get served at times! Last orders is 45 minutes before the game.

Things to check out around KCOM Stadium?

Little old Hull has an awful lot going on, but there are a few standout options which work for families, individuals and friend groups alike! Top of the list has to be the Streetlife Museum of Transport. It hits that tricky balance of informative and engaging right in the sweet spot, so young kids can enjoy themselves and adults can learn about everything "street travel-y” Hull has to offer! Sitting in a Victorian horse and cart is a pretty novel experience, I've got to say.

What to expect from the KCOM Stadium crowd?

There's only 2,510 seats available for away fans, which isn't a phenomenal allowance for big travelling crowds, but good enough that the North East part of the stadium usually rocks with a good whack of noise and excitement! The home side usually puts up a fight though, so there's a good hum (often a roar) throughout the stadium for most matches. The ground is pretty unique, aesthetically, which does seem to help get the crowd involved!

Best Insider tip at KCOM Stadium?

Leeds United are, amongst a few choices, probably the biggest rival of Hull City. If you are only going to visit one game, then a rival match is exactly what you want! The atmosphere starts building hours before the game and hits a 90-minute crescendo at kick-off. Don't go blazingly displaying your colours before/after the game as you could attract the wrong kind of attention, but once you're in the ground, soak up the KCOM atmosphere at its best!
