The stadium is perfectly located near to the city center and the bar district of Hamburg. The famous “Reeperbahn” is only a few hundred meters away where you can enjoy amazing nightlife and have a great time after a match.

If you want to check out a local fan pub, you may want to go to “Jolly Rogers” before watching the game. Many fans will meet here before and after a match, watching the club’s away games here is another cool experience.

There’s always action going on around the stadium, with a huge amount of bars and places to go. Get ready for some serious nightlife action!

Although the immediate area around the stadium is populated by more retail outlets and shops than pubs there are some places that you can get a drink in or two before the match kicks off. On Machinger Strasse you will find a food stall (Imbiss) – the ‘Schmankerl Eck’ which serves a lot of beers and the all important grilled meats.

Also on Machinger Strasse is the Herrnbräu brewery and attached to it is the ‘Bräustüberl zur Sudpfanne’. It’s a traditional Bavarian restaurant with a small beer garden which is great on a hot day.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that gets really close to the stadium where one might meet a lot of home fans and have a beer with them. The stadium is pretty far outside near an industry park which makes it easy to access from outside but, on the other hand, pretty isolated. Best thing to do is meet in the city center a bit earlier and then just follow the crowd towards the staidum. The pub where you might meet most football fans is called “IN de Luxe”, a sportsbar with cocktail happy hour after 8pm every day. Great place to watch FC Ingolstadt away games.

Nevertheless, they will often set up a tent near the home stands outside of the stadium where one might have a couple of beers before and after the game.

Drinking around the ground is easier said than done, with little more than neighbourhood bars to choose from and not many of those. You’re best sticking to the city centre, where there is a huge selection of traditional Bavarian beer gardens that are well worth whiling away your time in, especially when the weather allows it. The local brew is Herrnbrau, though most of the better beer gardens will brew their own or offer a selection of the best that the region has to offer.
