St. Paul is a very safe place full of very friendly people who are willing to go out of their way to help people. Their are also stadium security ready to take out those people who are being rowdy or belligerent.
Wild Times, Cheesecake Factory and Tom Reid's Hockey Bar are great places to grab a sandwich or hamburger before a game. There are also fast food places like McDonalds, Panda Express, and Chick Fil-a.
The Hockey Lodge is a hockey fan's dream store and sells game-used memorabilia, as well as all the basic accessories and apparel. You can find some really cool things here.
There is plenty of parking for around $5-$20 depending on how close you are gonna park. There are garages so your car is warmer during the Winter and then street parking if you get there at the right time after work gets off.
There isn't much traffic to the stadium but if you want to avoid it you can stay downtown and walk or take public transportation to get to the game but if you drive there are plenty of places to park and hardly any traffic.
The crowd is excited to have their hockey team back even though its under a new name. They are passionate hockey fans and all have firsthand experience of playing hockey. They are also rowdy and like to cheer loudly.

The Center is really quite quaint and small and perfect to see up close action. I like sitting close to the boards to really see how fast these guys skate but they are quite expensive. The seats about 2o rows up on the goal line are the best value for your money.
The Wild honor local hockey teams, state teams, and universities on the walls of their stadium by placing their hockey sweaters around. This is a really cool thing and shows the history and heritage of their great sport.
There are scalpers outside the stadium and are relatively friendly with other fans. They tend to give a good deal to people who buy more than one ticket.
