There's always plenty of banter flying around if you're sitting on the grass hill on either the Eastern Bank or the West Grassed Area. Games involving the Perth Scorchers have ignited a lot of passion for the home team. There aren't any chants or songs as such as the play on the field is so dynamic.

Best Insider tip at WACA?

One of the unique things about life in Perth is the cooling afternoon sea breeze, locally called the 'Freo Doctor'. Predominately in the summer months, the Freo Doctor is caused by the difference in land and sea temperatures. Sometimes, the temperature can drop several degrees very quickly and the wind gets up to 15-20 knots. Just something to keep in mind watching cricket at the WACA!

Best Bars near WACA?

The Royal Waterfront Hotel in East Perth is a 1km walk to the WACA and is a great venue before and after matches and events. Known for its wide range of craft beers, extensive menu, and great selection of local and imported wine, it's sometimes hard to drag yourself away from here. The setting is magic, and with plenty of LCD screens all around, a great venue to watch your team play even when they're playing away.

WACA seating?

The best atmosphere has to be on the grass banks on the East and West sides of the WACA. Family friendly, full of banter and atmosphere, and it also provides the best opportunity to catch a six! For day/night fixtures, or twilight matches for the Scorchers, I would sit on the West side though so the sun doesn't get in your eyes.
