Best restaurants near St Mary's Stadium?

Quay FIFTEEN might as well be called "omg so delicious”, as that's how it is invariably described! You can watch the chefs prepare your meal as you enjoy your drinks, and the menu is quite extensive. They cater well to the mass of gluten or otherwise intolerant customers, so you're always welcome. For something a little more European, look no further than Bacaro, the hidden gastronomical gem of Southampton. The food is simply stunning, and, even if it is a bit pricey, you are 100% getting what you pay for.

What to expect from the St Mary's Stadium crowd?

In keeping with the stunning, well-run stadium, the crowd does nothing other than provide a brilliant atmosphere. They love their football and have an admirable determination in trying to prove themselves equal to the rest of the league, resulting in constant cheering, clapping and undeterred enthusiasm. There's rarely any issue with violence or aggressive behaviour, but obviously if you come away with a win, don't go rubbing it in!

Best Insider tip at St Mary's Stadium?

Ever wondered what it's like to be one of the players; to get your pre-match shower, hear the manager's pep talk and walk down the tunnel to 30,000 screaming fans? Well, minus the fans, you can do all of that with a St Mary's Stadium tour! It's a 90 minute tour with an exceptionally well-educated guide, so you can ask any and all possible questions. For any Saints fans, the tour is a must at some point! £13 for adults at £6.50 for kids.

How do I get to St Mary's Stadium?

There's a handy shuttle bus which takes fans from the train station right up to the stadium, if you don't fancy the 25-30 minute walk. Drivers could have a pretty rough time of it however, as there's virtually zero parking at the stadium (for away fans, at least) and so parking in town becomes the next option. It's £5 or so, and a 15-20 minute meander from the NCP car park, but can take up to an hour to leave afterwards as the road get crazy traffic.

Things to check out around St Mary's Stadium?

It's not the usual recommendation to a rowdy football ground, perhaps, but if you want to see out the evening with class, Bring & Mix must be in with a shout. It's a gorgeous cocktail bar (table service!) which mixes incredibly flavours which you would never think to put together! There's a plethora of fun activity choices however: the "Houdini” escape room is superb, Mayflower Theatre is incredible on show night and the SeaCity Museum might pique the interest of some of you!

Best Food and Drink at St Mary's Stadium?

There's no real "best food and drink” at St Mary's, there's just "the food and drink”. To the delight of many football fans (and the despair of many others) there's nothing special about the fare here: pies, pasties, burgers and hot dogs within the usual £3.50-4.00 range, or thereabouts. You can get cheap lager inside, or delicious lager in any number of pubs within walking distance either side of the match. If you're after advice, save pennies for the latter!

St Mary's Stadium seating?

I'm not biased at all when I say that St Mary's offers some of the finest facilities in the Premier League. In the away section concourse alone there is a betting service, TVs so you never miss a minute and really efficient service, so the queues don't get long. My favourite feature is the "Pie and Pint” stand, which sells hot pies and cold beer all game! The seats are comfortable, legroom a bit tight and all round, it's 9 or 10/10 for seating compared to other top venues.

Best Pubs around St Mary's Stadium?

Home fans will find a warm welcome at any of the pubs on St Mary's Street, as that's where many locals get their water before kick-off. For the away crowd, your options are more limited (there isn't much at all actually next to the stadium) but can probably get space in one of the bars in the shopping centre or thereabouts. It's a bit of a guessing game, as even the Wetherspoons has been known to switch sides!
