The trend of Italian stadiums not having the best refreshments seems to continue here at Udinese unfortunately. There are some small refreshments and snacks to be had, but compared to the offerings in England and Germany especially, the food and drink here doesn't come up to those standards.

Stadio Friuli seating?

Following the very recent renovations, there isn't really a bad seat in the house. All of the seats are covered to protect the supporters from any outside conditions and the stands have been placed as close to the pitch as possible to ensure that there is an intimate feel to the place! Although in recent years during the renovations the Ultra fans were relocated to the Tribunes (East and West), now they are back in the Curve (North and South) Stands. For normal games a seat in the Curves will cost you around €20-30 a ticket with the Tribunes costing €30-45, but do expect these prices to go up for bigger matches.

Best restaurants near Stadio Friuli?

If you are really after a special dining experience, La Nicchia is a classic example of Italian seafood done exceptionally well! It is a very cosy and intimate place so if you are coming on a weekend it really is a good idea to reserve a table. You won't regret going. If you do blow your budget on the first night at La Nicchia, there are lots of cheaper restaurants with plenty of excellent food. Mamm Ciclofocacceria is popular among everyone in Udine, from students to business people looking for a great bite. The Focaccia sandwiches here really are mouth-watering. La di Boubir is also on hand throughout the day and night and will give you one of the best Kebabs that you will ever eat!

Best Bars near Stadio Friuli?

The Number 2 bus drops supporters off at the Piazza Rizzi near the East Stand, and it is here that you will find most of the pubs and bars that Udinese fans wet their whistles at before the game. The best atmosphere is probably found at 'Bar allo Stadio' where the appropriately named Rizzi fan groups meet and enjoy some of the towns famous 'Birra Moretti'. The walls are decorated with pictures of the clubs most famous player Antonio Di Natale, and the fans will regale you of stories about their hero! Nuovo Fiore is another great place to gather on match days near the ground – it also has a 10 Euro lunch menu that is a very popular choice! In the centre of town, there is of course a classic Irish Pub. 'The Black Stuff' serves up some great pints and always has a great atmosphere.

What to expect from the Stadio Friuli crowd?

The grand tradition of having groups of Ultras is alive and well at Udinese and there are around 9 separate groups that all contribute to a fantastic atmosphere! All the groups have their own separate scarfs, chants and banners, and that creates a fantastic carnival atmosphere at the games with each group of fans clamouring to take precedence!

Stadio Friuli parking?

Guess where the Stadium is to be found? That's right, on the outskirts of the city. From the main train station, it is probably a bit too far to walk – luckily enough there are a couple of buses that will take you from the centre of town to the stadium itself. The Number 9 takes you to the North side of the ground, whereas the number 2 will take you to the East Stand. The buses take around 15 minutes to get to the ground and really aren't expensive. Taxi's will be quicker but will set you back around 15 Euro!

Best Insider tip at Stadio Friuli?

If you want to save a bit of money, it is well worth purchasing your match ticket before the game days itself! If you do, you will save €5 on each ticket price. Use that money to buy yourself a pint or two of the local Birra Moretti!
