Molineux Stadium is a venue in or near Wolverhampton that is most often used for Soccer

Best Pubs around Molineux Stadium?

The lack of good matchday pubs for away fans is a real bummer at the Molineux Stadium. Wetherspoons, the popular drinking chain, is usually a stalwart and dependable option for away fans- not in Wolverhampton. The Stonehouse bar is one option in town which (seems to be) suitable for away fans; similarly, the Premier Inn bar doesn't seem to turn away the home fans, but there's really very little option beyond that, as far as I know at least.

How do I get to Molineux Stadium?

Loads of fans just get the train to Wolverhampton Railway Station and walk it from there. It only takes 15 minutes, and being part of the bustling crowd can help build excitement for the game! There are car parks in town which are useful for drivers, but they can also fill up with shoppers at weekends, so spaces are limited. There's plenty of private parking within 10-15 minutes' walk of the stadium which is great: a short walk, and quickly back on the motorway after the game.

What to expect from the Molineux Stadium crowd?

Most games only permit 1,600 away fans, which is a shame. The majority of teams manage to compensate for the small number by seriously upping their chant and shout efforts! The home crowd is excellent though: they cheer, shout and sing their way through the game, motivating the team and spurring them on regardless of the setting. They don't miss a beat when bantering with the away crowd either, engaging in harmless but brilliantly fun banter!

Best Insider tip at Molineux Stadium?

If you want to make the absolute most of your day, I can do no better than recommend getting the full Wolverhampton experience: tour, restaurant and game. The tour is excellent, offering a fantastic insight into the club's history (there's even a museum!). The WV1 Bar & Grill is a world apart from usual football fare, which makes the experience surprisingly enjoyable by comparison. Cap it all off with a game. Package deals are available as well to run these events together, often including free/convenient parking – check out their website for details!

Molineux Stadium seating?

Away fans get to call the Stan Cullis Stand home for the duration of the game. It comprises both the lower and upper tiers, both of which offer great views. At the back of the upper tier, you are pretty far from the action, but aerial views can really help you appreciate the game. Ticket prices max out at £30 for the upper tier of the Billy Wright Stand, arguably the best seats in the house, with a highly commanding view of the game. There are various ticket prices for youngsters, dropping each time between u21, u17 and u12.

Best restaurants near Molineux Stadium?

It would be rude to answer this question without mentioning the two standout restaurants on premises!Sir Jack's restaurant overlooks the stadium, which is a spectacular scene if you've never witnessed it: a sea of gold. The food is delicious, and you can go there on a non-matchday as well, so the good times aren't limited!WV1 Bar and Grill often offers matchday deals for parking, delicious food, tickets and any other comforts they can put your way. It's probably the most convenient eatery at any stadium, so why look anywhere else?

Things to check out around Molineux Stadium?

Wolverhampton is a pretty quiet town, so it really depends what you're in to! The Banks' Park Brewery has a great selection of beers (of course), nice food and really interesting, well-led tours. The Grand Theatre puts on incredible shows, if you're able to plan your trip in advance. Equally cultured, but perhaps a little more niche, is the Wolverhampton Art Gallery; it blends modern and historical pieces well, and never puts up a dull display.

Best Food and Drink at Molineux Stadium?

All the drinks come in under £4 a pop, which isn't too bad. There's Carling (tasteless lager, mmm!), Bitter, Magners cider and Guinness all on offer. You can even get a cheeky glass (well, cup) of wine or a spirit and mixer can for £4 as well, if you're not feeling like something heavy.Molineux might be the only stadium in England which offers food approaching "healthy” on a matchday: baked potatoes, Cornish pasties and chicken wraps are all available for £3 each. Of course there are pies, hot dogs, sausage rolls and burgers as well at £3.50, before you panic!
