Trouble isn't too common at the venue, however visiting fans have been accosted (though very much the minority) by the home support and it is strongly advised that you don't parade your colours about town before the game. Find pubs which have other away fans inside, and stay sensible so as to not attract attention from the few hooligan fans that go to the Oakwell.

If you love the Tykes enough to be a season ticket holder - or you're going to the game with one - be sure to head to Redferns bar before the game. Located in the stadium itself - its a Barnsley Bar reserved for season ticket holders with a great atmosphere.Also be sure to check the Barnsley FC website and look out for their free stadium tour offers - they don't happen that often a fill up fast, so be ready in a jiffy!
