How do I get to Weserstadion?

Weserstadion is a venue in or near Bremen that is most often used for Soccer

Don't bother driving directly to the stadium – it's just not worth it. The roads around the stadium are closed 2 hours before kick-off and access is for local residents only. There are park and ride facilities set up however with Hemelinger Hafen Car Park being a popular one. Why not park at Weser Park and Ship where you can do something a bit different! Take a boat to the stadium! The stadium conveniently has its own tram stop. You can catch the number 3 tram from a lot of places around the city and ride it all the way to the Weser Stadion Stop.If you fancy something different – you can actually take a ferry from the central waterfront that sails up to the ground itself! Places are limited though and you will have to book in the week.

Car: The parking lot right next to the stadium fits 1,800 cars. However, they offer a free Park and Ride solution. Leave the Highway A1 at the exit called Hemelingen and follow the P+R signs. Buses will then take you to the stadium from this parking lot. Tram: Starting at Central Station, take the line number 10 (towards Sebaldsbrücke) and get off at the station called St. Jürgen-Straße. From there it is a five minute walk, simply follow the signs. From the city center either take the line 2 (towards Sebaldsbrücke) and also exit at St. Jürgen-Straße or take the line 3 (towards Weserwehr) and get off at the station called Weserstadion.

As ever in Germany, public transport is excellent and by far the easiest way to get anywhere. Take the 25 tram straight from Bremen Hauptbahnhof to Friedrich-Karl-Straße and walk down Verdenerstraße to the stadium, or alternatively, take the 6 to Bremen Domsheide, change to the 3 get off at the stop called Weserstadion. If the weather is suitable, the walk is only half an hour or so and takes in the whole of the city centre, plus a scenic stroll along the Weser river. Grab a beer from a shop and have a dander down - that's what the majority of home fans will be doing.
