AIS Arena is a venue in Canberra
There is a licensed bar within the venue and all the normal snacks and fast food. All what you would expect.
Ellacure Restaurant & Bar, or Café Momo would be the pick of the restaurants. Both are within shouting distance of the venue.
Canberrans love their sport, and love their basketball. Some of Australia's finest female basketballers have started, and played out their careers with the Capital's in the WNBL. Being a 'boutique' stadium, the atmosphere from a sell-out crowd rivals the best of them.
It would be remiss of any sports fan to not check out the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). There are 90mins walking tours that leave from the AIS visitor centre four times per day, with heaps of interactive stuff along the way.
'The Well' on Telita Street is the pick of the venues near AIS Arena. Good burger menu and laid back atmosphere. The bar itself is located right in the heart of the University campus and is staffed largely by students.
The AIS shop is the pick of the places to get all your local merchandise. You can get your UC Capitals gear there, as well as plenty of Australian National Team branded gear.
I would definitely recommend getting to the venue early and checking out the AIS while you're there. Inside, you're going to get a great atmosphere and close-feel to the game.
The number 7 Action Bus departing from either the Civic Centre or Belconnen Town Centre head to the University campus. Plenty of parking if you're driving.
Being located on a University campus, there's tonnes of parking around the venue, with free parking after the normal business hours in the surrounding streets. Nothing is too far from the venue, so hunt around.
Being a small capacity venue, there's not really a bad seat in the house. Tickets to suit all budgets.
There are no safety concerns at this venue aside from the usual precautions late at night.
