Best Insider tip at Lanxess Arena?

Lanxess Arena is a venue in Cologne

If the idea of being stuck in a car park for hours after the concert has finished, just waiting to get out of there – the Arena Tarif might be the think for you. For just €5.50, the parking ticket is valid until 6 am the next morning. So instead of being stuck in congestion – go out and enjoy a meal, before coming back later after the crowds have gone and drive away with ease.

The arena not only hosts "Kölner Haie” ice hockey games. It is also home to a second league basketball team and, sometimes, the VfL Gummersbach (handball) plays there, too if they have any really important upcoming matches. On some weekends (friday through sunday) there are three or even four different events in the same location. If you are visiting Cologne this is a great thing to check out. Also, with being one of Germany's top-tier event halls there are always great artists to check out. Upcoming concerts are Drake, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars!

While there are standing areas behind either end, bear in mind that the Kölner Haie always attack towards the larger end (Block 211) in the first and third periods. So all the major events, the dramatic conclusions and the game winning goals are most likely to happen right in front of you if you can secure yourself a sport in that area.
