Honestly, the town of Empoli is a gorgeous small town, but if you are planning a trip to watch the team play – your best bet would be to base yourself in Florence. The trains to Empoli are frequent and will get you there on a match day in plenty of time. After the game, there is just more to see and do in the bigger and grander city of Florence.
