Both the Café Bar el Estadio and Cerveceria ECU are within hollering distance of the stadium, but are usually packed to the rafters with local fans. If you have a home ticket, then go get involved – the local Spaniards are bound to greet visiting Nazaríes with open arms! Best restaurants near Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes?

Il Gondoliere in El Palacio de Deportes is a great option. It's a gorgeous building – a modern-traditional hybrid interior – with a varied menu. It's also 2-3 minutes' walk from the stadium, so it doesn't get much better than that! Alternatives could be Meson Molinero which offers pretty basic, cheap takeaway food like kebabs and paninis, or Estilo GastroBar, which is exactly as its name suggests: quality bar food with excellent drinks. It's also just as close as Il Gondoliere to the stadium – bonus!

Best Food and Drink at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes?

El Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes is a bit old fashioned inside, with the facilities somewhat lacking compared to other La Liga clubs, meaning there's no real "best” food and drink here. I'd recommend getting toward the stadium fairly early and getting a drink in one of the bars neighbouring the venue, such as the Bar el Estadio, where you can also get some food. Taxis from town are quite cheap (€8), so you could even drink in your preferred bar there before heading in.

It is quite a common practice in Spain to purchase tickets at the stadium on the day of the match. Granada are actually quite capable of selling out a match days before kick-off, so you may not wish to take this risk if you want to see them during your trip to Granada. This is particularly true when one of the big teams in the league (such as Barcelona, or either of the renowned Madrid teams) where tickets can sell out extra-fast despite a €20 hike in the price.

If you are spending any time in Granada beyond the match itself, you can't leave without visiting the Alhambra! It is a massive, sprawling and beautiful palace complex that has been standing since the 9th century. You can spend hours – even days – roaming the gardens and buildings. Combined with the views from its hilltop seat, the whole experience is just breathtaking. You pay for a ticket to explore, but it's entirely worth the price.

Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes seating?

If there's one thing that lets the stadium down, it's the quality of some facilities. The seats are one of them. They are pretty battered and old, not terribly comfortable and leave a lot to be desired. The view from most seats, however, is really good. Despite having 3 tiers on each stand, they are only a few rows deep, so everyone is quite close to the action! Tickets seem to go anywhere from €25 to upwards of €80, so it really depends on the game.

What to expect from the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes crowd?

Passion. The Granada fans are known for bringing an atmosphere that is more pronounced and genuine than that experience at some of the higher profile grounds, even the likes of La Liga and the Santiago Bernabau! They chant and cheer from long before the starting whistle, "oooh-ing” and "aaahh-ing” with all the enthusiasm and timing you'd expect from a Spanish crowd. The fans love their team, and they just adore watching them play football.
