What to expect from the Wembley Stadium crowd?

Wembley Stadium is a venue in or near London that is most often used for Soccer

Wembley Stadium has long been accused of lacking in atmosphere. Because of the large number of seats, unless there is a sellout crowd there are empty seats which can kill at atmosphere. Add this to the fact that a lot of seats are occupied by tourists make for a dampened atmosphere. There is noise to be found behind the goals and next to the away fans, though for the most part there is a civil atmosphere. There is a feature that makes the stadium feel more atmospheric though which is quite unique to Wembley - the roof shuts which makes the acoustics special.

The "home” and "away” fans are seated in different parts of the stadium, so should be an immediate atmosphere generated as they face each other. However, the vibe from the crowd can often be underwhelming. At England games, the home fans are often quiet and subdued; if England aren't banging in goals like Barcelona, many of the home fans aren't really interested. However, the away end is usually always a party! Travelling fans love the chance to visit Wembley, and make sure everyone else knows it. If it's a good game though, and the England fans decide to get interested, the 90,000-seater will create a helluva lot of noise!
