Estadio Anoeta is a venue in or near San Sebastian that is most often used for Soccer

Best Insider tip at Estadio Anoeta?

How about this for a bargain: a lengthy, informative tour of the stadium by a seasoned guide and access to the Real Sociedad Centenary Museum for just €6. That's less than the cost of lunch! The stadium tour is really cool and takes you through all the normal places (like changing rooms, the tunnel, the press area and all the rest!) and gives you a chance to experience an Estadio Anoeta completely void of life! The museum boasts a large range of memorabilia and many, many trophies!

Things to check out around Estadio Anoeta?

San Sebastian isn't the easiest town to explore on your own, and it doesn't really make the headlines like other, better known parts of Spain. However, it is truly gorgeous and filled with hidden gems and nuggets of history and culture! The company Just FollowMe offer guided tours around San Sebastian and they are exceptional! The guides' knowledge is superb, they deliver the content naturally and keep you engaged for the whole tour. To discover the area away from the football stadium, consider getting a tour.

Best restaurants near Estadio Anoeta?

So here's the bad news first: there aren't any good restaurants anywhere near the stadium. Sorry. Now for the good news: if you travel back up towards the centre of San Sebastian (and slightly West) you'll have an abundance of vibrant, local restaurants ready to serve you some authentic, delicious cuisine! Match great wine with perfectly presented food at Restaurante Xarma, or experience a much more casual dining experience by the seaside at Restaurante Asador Alaia - good food, chilled environment.

What to expect from the Estadio Anoeta crowd?

The crowd are a fun bunch. The same can be said of most of La Liga, but it is especially true here. The fans love to sing and dance their way through entire matches, sometimes with more energy than the players themselves! For this reason, it's a good stadium to visit if you just enjoy football and want to get a really high intensity, fun game in during your stay in San Sebastian. If you visit the club shop and don a local shirt, then you'll make plenty of friends too!

Best Food and Drink at Estadio Anoeta?

I've never bought food within the stadium itself, so I can't really attest to the quality (other than the fact that virtually every football stadium in the world sells crap food) but what I can recommend is that you visit the SUPER AMARA (a supermarket) opposite the stadium at the Plaza Los Soldados and just stock up on some good food there. You're unlikely to have it removed from your bag, or you can just munch a few sandwiches before going inside. It's cheaper, healthier and avoids queueing at half-time!

Best Bars around Estadio Anoeta?

The two closest options are Bar Txirrita and Bar Esparru. In fact, those are the only two options for quite some distance. They are both quite trendy and modern bars, and I expect they largely exist thanks to Real Sociedad's home fixtures! The beer is great and range of other drinks is impressive, but you may want to arrive early if you're expecting a seat before the game; both get pretty busy, as there isn't quite enough space to sit 30,000 fans between the two of them!

Estadio Anoeta seating?

The only drawback with the seating is that, albeit only being relevant on rare occasions, the roof doesn't actually offer protection against the elements for all seats. Apart from that, great stadium! The views are at least "decent" from anywhere in the venue, and some of them (naturally the more expensive ones) are just superb. Tickets start at €30 for adults and shoot all the way up to a massive €75 for a good seat at a big game.

How do I get to Estadio Anoeta?

Since there is no official parking (or unofficial parking, for that matter) at the stadium, the best plan for drivers is to head sightly North of the Anoeta and park on the street, or a local private car park. You can always use Parkopedia to help you navigate to a spot on your smartphone! There's a bus stop called "Anoeta" which is, unsurprisingly, right by the venue! You can get the 17, 21, 26 or 28 buses which all pass by this extremely convenient stop. Easy!
