Verona, quite rightly has long been identified with being Shakespeare's city – the home of Romeo and Juliet – but there are so many more facets to the 'Gateway to Italy'. Nevertheless, you should take the time to see where history and fiction have intermingled and go and see the Romeo and Juliet House! If historical importance is of value to you then you should absolutely make a visit to the old Roman Amphitheatre – just think of the drama that happened here – let alone at the football ground! Otherwise, spend the day at Piazza Bra and enjoy the bars and cafes!
