They offer a very popular meal deal though of a Currywurst and Fries – you'll see almost everyone who is eating munching down on one.The beer is very often just watery Carlsberg, which really isn't to everyone's tastes. However – you are in Berlin, one of the best drinking cities in the world. Just wait until you are out and about in the city!

Berlin is known for its amazing Currywurst. A sausage that is drowned in curry sauce, usually served with french fries. Since you're already here, definitely give it a taste, it's delicious. They serve it inside the stadium. Hot Dogs can be purchased, too. Of course, as in every German football stadium you can also get some locally brewed Pilsener Beer. Keep in mind that they operate a cashless card system. You will need a card that you get and charge inside the stadium.

Food is standard German football fare. Huge bratwursts start at €3.30, cold beer at €4.20 and bretzels from €3.20. Expect to pay a €1 deposit on your plastic glass as well, which you can either redeem at the end of the game, or even better, keep as a souvenir. In the winter there is glühwein to keep you warm and Berliners go for the classic currywurst - sliced sausage with ketchup and curry powder. Watch out, however, for so-called "risk games” - the police sometimes ban alcohol altogether or cut the strength down to just 3%. There is a cashless system in operation to pay for concessions, get a card beforehand and load €10 or more. Away fans can still pay using cash.
