There are a lot of places for a few drinks before the game and you will find fans always willing to chat to a visitor at any of the following:The Union Tanke is a beer garden/terrace type place with lots of street art showing famous victories over their big rivals over the years! If there's lots of people outside, drinking with lots of sausages being cooked – you've found it!There is a similar sort of vibe at Abseitsfalle which really does fill up fast. When the bar gets full (and it will) fans spill out into the car park and enjoy the weather!

Want to meet local fans before or after the match? Then the bar "Abseitsfalle” is the perfect place for you. This is where Union Berlin fans go and enjoy a couple of beers before finally heading to the stadium. It is a great place for every football fan, very local and with a great atmosphere. Very close to the stadium, only about 500m to walk. Also, outside of the stadium there are two beer gardens that are usually packed long before the match.

The best bet for a traditional Berlin beer is to nip into an eckkneipe, the traditional dive bars that overflow (in more ways than one) whenever Union are at home. For a proper fan experience, Abseitsfalle on Hämmerlingstraße is an old school Union pub, just a short walk from the stadium and absolutely guaranteed to be jumping.Union Tanke on Bahndamm is also a home fans favourite, with outdoor seating, sausages galore and general bonhomie. Head there, then wander over with everyone about an hour before kickoff to take your place on the terraces.
