Despite being in the second league of German football– Union Berlin still charge fairly normal prices for much of their food and drinks, that's what you get when you are based in the capital. However, unlike a lot of grounds, the quality of the food and drink is pretty decent – so much so that a lot of fans arrive early at the ground so get a couple of drinks in as opposed to spending time in a pub!

Probably one of the best supply in German professional football. The grills are heated with actual coal, nothing runs electric – a rarity in big stadiums. Make sure you go for a delicious "Bratwurst” or steak sandwich. The beer is called "Berlin Pilsener”. Another great thing: Beer is even sold in the stands by mobile vendors. Prices for food and drinks are pretty cheap compared to all the other stadiums in Bundesliga 1 & 2. You can pay cash in the stadium, by far the more convenient method than at most other venues who operate cashless card systems.

Food is beer and sausages, of course, but with a Berlin twist. The brew on offer is Berliner Pilsner and alongside the wurst, there are pork steaks and a huge range of fish sandwiches, fitting for a stadium that is right on the river.Beer is a pricey enough €4, though they do a mean winter Glühwein for just €3.50. Given the small stadium and the passion of the fans, plenty of games are considered rivalry matches with the potential for trouble, which often results in the police enforcing that weak 3% beer is sold or banning alcohol completely.
