How do I get to Ruhrstadion?

Ruhrstadion is a venue in or near Bochum that is most often used for Soccer

Bochum isn't the biggest town and so everything is reasonably walkable in the city. The Ruhrstadion is just 1000 metres away from the city centre and a little less than 2km away from the main railway station which has plenty of trains coming in from nearby Dortmund – no more than a 15-minute walk!Otherwise there is a tram system that you can take throughout the town. At the train station, you can get either Line 308 or 318 and ride it until the stadium – Station Ruhrstadion. The journey shouldn't take more than a few minutes!

Car: If travelling by car, get off the highway A40 at the exit number 36 "Bochum – stadium”. From here just follow the signs. For navigational purposes, the address is Castroper Straße 145, 44791 Bochum. As almost everywhere parking means long waiting times after every game due to busy traffic. They have parking lots around the stadium, but there is only a limited amount of spots. Tram: From Central Station get onto line 308 or 318 towards Schürbankstraße/Gerthe. Get off at "Ruhrstadion” station and you will already see the venue. People who already hold a valid ticket for the match can travel for free. Walking: If you feel like walking to the stadium, it is only a 20 minute walk from Central Station. Head towards Castroper Straße, through the undercrossing passing by the so-called "Planetarium” and you will already be able to see the venue.

Bochum is right at the heart of Germany's most populated area, so it isn't hard to get to as a city. Once you're there, the stadium is a leisurely half an hour's walk from the main station, easily the best way to get to the ground if the weather allows it. Alternatively, there is a tram station, conveniently named after the ground, right outside that is well-served from the city centre.
