How do I get to Lanxess Arena?

Lanxess Arena is a venue in Cologne

The Laxness Arena is a central part of Cologne's culture and so the city have made it very easy to get there! If you are driving a car, there is ample parking at the venue. The multi-storey car parks are signposted throughout the city so you won't have any trouble finding them. Parking costs €1.30 an hour, though expect long delays after any event. Both trams and buses service the arena throughout the day and night. Tram numbers 1,3,4 and 9 – all go to either 'Bahnhof Deutz' 'Koln-Deutz' or 'Deutz-Kaller Bad' which are all just short walks to the area.

Car: If you are coming from further away, you will be most likely approaching via highway A3. Get off the highway at exit "Mülheim” and make your way towards "Kölnmesse” (exhibition). When getting to "Wiener Platz” there will already be signs directing you to "Lanxess Arena”. The venue address is Willy-Brandt-Platz 3, 50679 Köln. Parking is 1,30€ per hour with a max of 5,50€ if you go for the "Arena-Tarif”. Try to pay before the match to prevent long waiting times. Train / Tram / Bus: The Arena is close to the train station "Bahnhof Deutz” which means you won't have to get on any additional form of public transport once you got there by train. If coming from somewhere else in Cologne, you want to get on the tram or bus lines 1, 3, 4 and 9 or 150, 153, 156, 250 and 260. Get off at either one of the stations called "Bahnhof Deutz / Messe”, "Bahnhof Deutz / LANXESS Arena” or "Deutz Technische Hochschule” from where it is only a very short walk to the stadium.

Given that the Lanxess Arena is right in the heart of Cologne, walking is certainly an option from anywhere in the city centre. The nearest railway station is Messe/Deutz, just along the road, while the U-bahn is Deutz Technische Hochschule. Oh, and there's a tram stop too. Suffice to say, it's as easy to reach as you could hope for, though given the city centre location, parking can be expensive. The simple answer, of course, is not to bother. Use public transport like everyone else.
