Even though Hearts are pretty good at attracting enough fans to fill most of their 16,000 seats, the atmosphere is often pretty limp at Tynecastle. Fans expect to beat everyone except Celtic, Hibs and Aberdeen and so don't seem to feel any need to get involved. If the team falls behind, things get exceptionally flat. However, the crowd seem to flick a switch for playing their local rivals and the big teams, and suddenly it's all singing, clapping and cheering!

The support at Hearts is always a fantastic one – consistently in the top group of teams in the SPL, Hearts are always up for the challenge of competing for the title, in spite of Celtics recent dominance. The atmosphere at Tynecastle is often described as charged and full of passion – and in spite of this, the fans are generally friendly! The vibe has been known to boil over on big game days so if you are going to see Hearts play Hib, Rangers or Celtic – hold on to your seat, as Tynecastle might get a little loud!
