Best Food and Drink at HDI Arena?

HDI Arena is a venue in Hannover

Since the rebuild for the 2006 World Cup, it's fair to say that the food and drink facilities are fairly decent. The food and drink for sale is rather good quality despite being the rather basic stuff that you will find in grounds all over the world with Bratwurst and fries taking centre stage, all being washed down with some good German Beer. You will have to go through the effort of having to buy a cashless card and top it up to buy your half time refreshments though.

The options you have regarding food are very limited. The thing you want to go for is the traditional, German "Bratwurst”. Always good and simply a part of our stadium culture to offer our good old sausages. Compared to other venues, they are pretty cheap, too, the price of a "Bratwurst” is about 2,80€. Beer is a bit more expensive, but still acceptable and average. We are looking at 4€ for half a liter, soft drinks and other beverages are slightly cheaper. The stadium operates a cashless card system which you will have to purchase before buying and food or drinks. Only exception are the food stands right next to the guest stances where you can pay cash.

The usual bratwurst and beer fare is on offer at the HDI Arena. The good news is that now that Hannover 96 have been relegated, the prices are at least lower: €3.80 a pint and €2.70 a sausage. You might make the argument that you'd need to be drunk to watch Erzgebirge Aue and Sandhausen when once you saw Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund, but we'll take what we're given.
