How do I get to HDI Arena?

HDI Arena is a venue in Hannover

Hannovers 'green theme' continues even in their location. Found 2.5km outside of the city centre, the stadium is in a nice sports park complex. If you arrive at the main train station in town you can jump on the tram! Lines 3 and 7 run to Stadionbrücke Station which is just a short walk to the stadium. However, you might want to get off 2 stops beforehand at Waterloo with its beer garden just a couple of minutes walk from the station. There is of course parking at the station if you're driving yourself and car spots shouldn't cost more than €5.

Car: There are two highways leading towards the Arena depending on where you are coming from. Coming from Berlin/Dortmund you may want to take the highway A2 and get off at "Hannover-Herrenhausen” towards the city center. Then, simply follow the numerous signs. Other directions will force you to take the A7 which you want to exit at "Hannover-Anderten”. Get onto the state road B65 and also follow the signs to the stadium. Be aware, that the amount of parking lots is very limited, especially, when there are other events, mostly during spring or fall. Metro: You can get to the stadium via the metro lines 3,7 and 9, get off at "Waterloo” station. If you have a ticket for the guest stances you may want to take the lines 3, 7 or 17 and get off at "Stadionbrücke” station. Bus: There are also buses operating on match days. Simply hop on the bus lines 100/200 and get off at HDI Arena. All means of public transportation are for free if you're already holding a valid ticket for the according game.

The HDI Arena is a fair walk from the centre of Hannover, but public transport can get you there in no time. You have two choices: take the U-Bahn on line 7 to Stadionbrücke and walk the final ten minutes or so, or alternatively, get the 100 bus from outside Kröpke station and have it deposit you right in front of the stadium. Get off either option when everyone else does.
