While there is very little in the immediate area surrounding Goodison there are two favorite options of the locals within 15 minute walking distance.The first is a pub on Walton road called the Thomas Frost which is a Wetherspoons and has cheap drink and food prices for before or after the match. With a mix of supporters it is a good atmosphere on match day and is one of the local hangouts, that being said it can be incredibly busy.Another alternative is the Bradleys Wine Bar which is an extra minute walk down the road which is also a friendly match day atmosphere and in fact is less like a "wine bar” and serves a lot of traditional beer and ale.For visiting fans who don't like to mingle with the home crowd, The Arkles pub is also quite popular and you can usually find the away fans from Anfield just down the road in there as well. This is only 10-15 minute walk away and shows live sports during the day.

If it's tradition and atmosphere that you are after then look no further than the 'Winslow' pub; located right next to Goodison Park, the Winslow has long been an Everton stronghold and is very popular on match days. If the Winslow is too busy for your tastes and it may well be; try walking a little further up the road to 'The Brick', another pub favorited by Everton fans and full of songs and atmosphere. For Away fans many choose to frequent pubs in the city center before travelling to the ground, although the Thomas Frost pub is near the stadium and welcoming!

Maybe steer clear of The Goodison, unless you're clearly supporting Everton; it's the home team bar, so swaggering in with Chelsea or Newcastle shirts might give you a cold welcome. You've got two better options within 15 minutes' walk of the venue: Thomas Frost and Bradleys Wine Bar.Frost is a low-price, fast-service Wetherspoons (£2.50 a drink) and Bradleys is a more cosy, family-run pub and not a fancy wine bar at all! Both are great for home/away fans, with great matchday atmosphere.
