Event parking will cost you $30 if you park in the official Melbourne Park car parking. All in all, it's not bad value considering the close proximity to the Arena (it's right next door). The major downfall is the traffic getting out of the parking lot at the end of the event. If you are happy to put up with a bit of waiting, then this is a good option. You can sometimes be lucky enough to get a car park around the Botanical gardens or along the Yarra River, but they are harder to find.

Yarra Park, which wraps around the MCG, is connected via a footbridge to Melbourne Park and the Australian Open. Parking costs are pretty reasonable given Melbourne Park is right near the heart of the Melbourne CBD. For night sessions, if you're lucky enough to snag a park across the Yarra on Alexandra Parade once the parking restrictions are lifted, that's your best option for free parking.
