The ground was built in 1999 to accommodate the European Championships in 2000 and can accommodate over 24,000 fans. Domestic games very rarely sell out but the 4,200 standing area behind the goal at the west end of the ground is a sight to behold and Genk's passionate army fans are notorious for creating a carnival atmosphere.
