Best restaurants near Fir Park?

There are a few gems hidden away in Motherwell which are just delights for the palate. The Wide Mouth Frog is an exciting, modern gastropub which really tests the boundaries with its menu. Blais Café Bistro focus on classic British food and they hit the nail on the head every time. Perfect for a post-game grub. Finally there's Da Claudio, the #1 ranked restaurant in the whole town: it's Italian, it's gourmet and it's mouth-wateringly tasty.

Best Insider tip at Fir Park?

Try to avoid sitting in the Phil O'Donnell Stand – it has a history which condemns it to having the worst atmosphere of any of the stands! The club built the stand using the money generated from selling a few popular players, and there's been a stigma against it ever since. The atmosphere in the stand is usually not that great compared to other seats, though if you're more in it for the views than the noise, this might be the perfect stand for you after all!

Best Bars around Fir Park?

The Fir Park Social Club is quite a cool venue as it opens its doors to both home and away fans. It's really close to the stadium, and does fast service and cheap(ish) drinks on a matchday, which is all you need really! Slightly closer to the stadium is the Jack Daniels Bar. Even cooler than the Social Club, this splits home and away fans into separate rooms so that they can each enjoy their own company before the game!

Fir Park seating?

You can get up to 4,500 away fans in the South Stand for a big game (probably an Old Firm match) which is more than most Premier League teams offer! Usually it's just the lower tier though, and the views from here are really good. You're close to the action and almost feel involved in the play! The rest of the stadium offers equally good viewing and ticket prices are quite modest for the East Stand (£20) but a bit pricey towards the best views (Phil O'Donnell Stand) at £27 each!

How do I get to Fir Park?

For those who want to drive, there's only street parking on offer. For the least stressful journey, get there nice and early, park up and head over to one of the nearby pubs for a bite to eat and a few hours' excitement building.Locals can travel to Airbles Railway Station which is a few minutes' walk from the stadium, but for everyone else it'll be a 15 minute walk from Motherwell Central. If it's bucketing down with rain, grab a taxi for a few pounds.

What to expect from the Fir Park crowd?

The term "good banter” seems to get chucked around a lot regarding Motherwell fans, and it's not hard to see why. The fans are just mad for football! They're passionate about supporting their home side, so if your team is giving them a tough game, they'll raise the noise and chanting to new levels. They're a fun group, so you should expect a lot of singing and clapping as the game goes on.

Things to check out around Fir Park?

If you're with the family, especially with youngsters, then look no further than M&Ds Theme Park. It's quality! The rides themselves have a tendency to break down, but the real treats are elsewhere anyway: there's crazy golf (always a happy one for families and friends!), an ice rink and the "Amazonian Experience” which is pretty cool. Check sites like Groupon for deals to make things a bit cheaper.

Best Food and Drink at Fir Park?

There's not really any "best” food or drink; it's more just "the” food and drink. The options are the usual: pies, hot dogs, sausage rolls and the like. I think it's about £2.20 each. There's an agreement between Scottish Stadiums that says they cannot sell alcohol within the grounds, so you'll have to do your drinking either side of the match. However, there are hot drinks and soft drinks inside, so you won't die of thirst.
