Estadio Municipal de Balaidos is a venue in or near Vigo that is most often used for Soccer

Things to check out around Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

There's an awful lot going on in the Vigo area, so it's really up to your preferences! My recommendation would be a trip to the beach, Playa Samil, because I love the beach. There is gorgeous white sand and clean, blue water, though it's two miles from the venue - a reasonable walk. A more local option would be either getting the adrenaline going (or reliving the match) at the AD Sports Bar, or relaxing at the Parque de Castrelos which is just a few minutes' walk away.

How do I get to Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

A lot of travelling fans arrive via the RENFE train station, from where it's a simple matter of hopping on the number 23 bus at Calle de Pizarro to Avenida Fragosa, a few minutes' walk from the stadium itself. If you're already in the city centre, then the number 11 bus also goes very close to the stadium. There's no official stadium parking for the drivers, however many fans find it quite simple locating an on-street spot within 10-15 minutes' casual stroll.

Best Bars around Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

If you're looking for the best bar to visit before the game (or after, I guess), then there's only one real answer: AD Sports Bar. It's got a decent capacity, which means you can fit a great crowd. There's are loads of TVs, cracking memorabilia adorning the walls and a delightful number of cold beers on offer. Situated just a few minutes' walk from the venue, it's ideally placed to meet your matchday needs. There are other bars in the centre, but as long as you arrive nice and early, this one wins hands down.

Best Food and Drink at Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

It's kinda hard to describe the "best" food available at the stadium, since the quality of food (as is common across the majority of Spanish stadia) isn't that high. You can get something to warm your belly, but my advice is to either stock up before you head inside, or maybe try to sneak in a sandwich or two. Or 3. Spaniards prioritise the football way above eating and drinking, so best bow to our wisdom and focus on the game!

Best restaurants near Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

What's the best food to get after a matchday where you can chat animatedly about everything that happened in the last two hours? That's right. Pizza! Interpizza offers proper, fresh baked pizzas at incredible value for money, just round the corner from the stadium. If you're looking for a more distinguished (or Spanish) meal to end your day, consider Restaurante Manzana Roja - it's not far away by foot, and boasts a lovely dinner area with a superbly diverse and refined menu.

What to expect from the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos crowd?

If you're an away fan, I'd say expect to feel very small and quiet! The Celta de Vigo fans are loud (like most passionate football lovers) and there are usually very few away fans at the stadium. Those who do show up are housed in one corner, so it can seem a little daunting. However, the fans are extraordinarily nice and friendly - many visitors report getting handshakes, well wishes and general positive vibes from the surrounding tribe. Great stadium, perfect for impartial fans!

Estadio Municipal de Balaidos seating?

If you can wangle a seat in the middle of the South (Rio) stand, then you are killing it. Though it may cost your around €50 for the privilege (more if it's Barcelona or Real), they are unquestionably the best seats in the house. Going behind one of the goals will save you up to €25 a ticket, so it's hard to argue with that if you're on a tight budget. Matches don't tend to sell out fully (again, different rules apply when it's one of the titans), so you can usually leave it pretty late to buy your tickets.

Best Insider tip at Estadio Municipal de Balaidos?

While Celta de Vigo don't current offer a tour of the facilities (which is a shame, as it's a really cool stadium!) you can get access to the club museum. It has memorabilia, plaques describing the highs and lows of the club and really make you feel like one of the fans. At only €3 for entry, it's pretty hard to turn down. Since the museum is open for up to 90 minutes before kick-off, I recommend you get there nice and early, immerse yourself in the museum and then watch the game. It just improves the experience.
