Angers is a town steeped in history and there are reminders of its former place in the world wherever you look – Henry II's former castle was given an upgrade by King Louis I'st into the enormous specimen that it is today. The inside is just as impressive and you can see an 800 year old tapestry inside – measuring over 100 yards!If history isn't your thing, then take notice of where you are. In the Loire Valley, vineyards are everywhere! One of the best and closest is just a 30 minute bus ride away. Domaine du Closel-Chateau des Vaults winery has been making spectacular wine for over 600 years! Why not take the day to try some and see what all the fuss is about.

The area around the Stade Jean-Bouin is mainly about sports with different sport gymnasium and clubs. If you go back to the city center through Madeleine Street, you can maybe appreciate some bars and restaurants. Other than that, the castle area is a good place to hang out, relax and get some nice view on the old city.
