You may find it a bit difficult to find a place to have a few drinks around the stadium, with the only real option being Mr Onions which is located in the nearby University district.The best options are back in Augsburg itself – There is a good selection of expat styled sports bars and pubs to choose from with Flannigans Post, Murphys Law and Murdocks Pub all being great choices , they offer good beers in a friendly atmosphere and are welcoming to football fans.

The WWK Arena is only 1.5km from the Augsburg University where you will find plenty of lively and fun places to go to. Especially for football fans I recommend visiting Mr. Onions, a cocktail-bar with karaoke and live-music events as well as great fast food such as Burgers and Pizza. Perfect for a drink or two before the game. Just around the corner you will find a stylish and popular shisha bar if you just want to relax before a game.

If you haven't had enough football for one day, then the bar Elfer (Penalty in German) is the perfect place to watch a match. They show every game imaginable, just make sure you get a place early as they will fill up. They're close to Moritzplatz too, making them ideal for getting the tram to the WWK Arena. Beer lovers should not miss the Riegele Wirtshaus, where Augsburg's favourite beer is brewed. It's right by the Hauptbahnhof and they do a mean line in Swabian food as well. You can pay €14.50 to get a beer tasting, a tour and some traditional German food.
