Although the stadium is rather old with even the most recent renovations being in 1979, the refreshments are pretty decent. The food and drink for sale is the rather basic stuff that you will find in grounds all over the world with sausages for roughly €2.50 and fries taking precedence as well as some good German Beer for around €3 a pint. You will have to go through the effort of having to buy a cashless card and top it up to buy your half time refreshments though.

The beer which is sold in the stadium ("Fiege”) is locally brewed and, of course, very refreshing. Options for food are standard: Bratwurst, Currywurst (sausage in a curry sauce, delicious) and Frikadelle (sort of a meatball patty). Usually, the food stands are really busy during halftime since there are not too many available. However, the prices are compared to other stadiums pretty cheap. Beer is around 3€ and food is even cheaper (2-2,50€).

Nothing in particular to shout about, just the usual German beer and bratwurst. The local tipple of choice is Fiege, brewed in the city, and they have their own lounge at the stadium if you're willing to shell out the extra to go in the hospitality sections. For normal punters, expect to pay €3 a pint, with a €1 deposit on your glass, with bratwurst coming in at €2. Due to their location in the crowded Ruhr valley, Bochum have a lot of local rivals. Assume that any game against a team from within 100km is going to be at the very best low-strength beer only, or worse, completely alcohol free. The cops might be generous, but mostly they err on the side of caution.
