What to expect from the Weserstadion crowd?

Weserstadion is a venue in or near Bremen that is most often used for Soccer

Despite being a fixture in the Bundesliga for almost a decade now, Werder Bremen are a middling team, that although welcome the stability of being in the top league – the fans aren't going to find themselves in a title challenge or a last-minute survival battle anytime soon. This makes for a good but not great atmosphere here. The fact that the away fans and the most vocal home supporters are found opposite each other makes for some really good banter going back and forth!

Werder Bremen's fans are generally speaking admired for their enthusiasm and great attitude. The crowd always stands behind their team, even in bad times as they have been recently. The entire city is passionate about soccer and proud of their team. Usually, every match day fills up the entire stadium. The stadium is designed for having a lively atmosphere. This helps the very supportive fans to turn the venue into a lion's den every match day. Definitely worth a visit! Don't forget that the team's color is green.

Bremen is a cosmopolitan city and the fans reflect that. They are known as some of the most left-wing in Germany and have regular anti-racist and anti-homophobia actions on the terraces, particularly on the Ostkurve where the ultras are. That means that most fans will have a great experience. Problems with away fans are rare, as Werder are generally a nice bunch, though any game with Hamburg, Schalke or Bayern could be feisty. The cops will be out in force for these matches and you won't have anything to worry about.
