How do I get to Esprit Arena?

Esprit Arena is a venue in Dusseldorf

First things first – you won't want to walk to the stadium – it's around 5km away from the city centre and over 7km away from the main train station. Luckily there is an easier way than walking and a cheaper way than getting a taxi. The Dusseldorf Metro (U-Bahn) runs from the main station – hop on the number U78 and ride the metro till the Arena – Stadium Esprit Arena/Messe Nord is the last stop on the line so you can't miss it. Your game ticket also serves as a ticket for public transport so you won't have to bother paying for a ticket. There is parking at the ground if you are driving, and with over 20,000 parking spaces you shouldn't have to worry about getting a space. You will have to pay €5 for the spot.

Car: Best way to get to the stadium by car is to take the highway A44 (coming from the West) and take the exit number 29 called "Düsseldorf Messe/Arena”. You will be right at the venue. If coming from the city just follow the numerous signs pointing towards Messe/ESPRIT Arena. Dusseldorf is one of the very few places where I can also recommend people getting there by car. The parking situation is impeccable with more than 20,000 parking lots available. Although it sometimes can get busy after a well attended match, the situation is usually handled far better than in most other cities. Metro: You simply want to get on the metro line U78 directly taking you to the station "ESPRIT Arena/Messe-Nord”. Once you get there you will already see the stadium. The metro line, for instance, also starts from Dusseldorf Central Station. Plane: Another unique thing is the arena's proximity to the airport. It is only 3km away and a taxi ride lasts about 10 minutes (15-20€).

Coming from the centre of town to the Esprit Arena is simple - it's right by the Messe, the main trade fair areas and between the two of them they're among the biggest reasons for anyone to visit Düsseldorf. Take the U-Bahn from the Old Town or the Hauptbahnhof straight to the stadium on line U78 and it get off at the end station. For those travelling with cars, the Esprit Arena is right off the Autobahn A44, the Messe and the Arena are well signed and there's plenty of parking which costs €5.
