Things to check out around BayArena?

BayArena is a venue in or near Leverkusen that is most often used for Soccer

If watching Bayer Leverkusen has gotten you stressed out, then take a moment to relax and appreciate the zen of the Japanischer Garten! Arranged in a very Japanese style, with trees, flowers and water features, it's a great place to unwind. One of the best things to do in Leverkusen is actually at the stadium – why not walk in the footsteps of your favorite players and go behind the scenes and take a stadium tour! For just €10 you can't afford not to!

To be honest, Leverkusen is more of an industrial city where there's not really much to see. If you're really up for some sightseeing you could just make your way towards the city center, from the stadium this is about 10 minutes of walking. Here, you will encounter some nice churches. Probably the most interesting sight, despite the stadium, is the "Japanese Garden”, however, it is about 2.5km from the venue.

Leverkusen is somewhere between a big Cologne suburb and a small town, which means that there really isn't a great deal going on. While stadium tours can be a little generic, the Leverkusen one is actually really good, with an inside look at one of the most modern (and unique) grounds in Germany, plus an insight into the history of the club, from a works team to a Champions League finalist. They're €10 for adults, €6 for kids and run on the day of a game in English and German.
