How do I get to Estadio da Luz?

Estadio da Luz is a venue in or near Lisbon that is most often used for Soccer

You can find the stadium in the north of the city of Lisbon, which is approximately 8 kilometres outside of the historic city centre, as well as being just two kilometres away from the other large stadium in the city, Estádio José Alvalade. This venue is just beside the E1 motorway, so if you are driving you can take the Benfica exit in order to make your way to the stadium. You can easily see the stadium from the motorway and there are good signposting, so you can't miss it. There is no official car park so you will have to find your own spot.Lisbon has a great public transport system, with your best option being the metro to get to the stadium. If you are near the historic centre, you should take the blue line and the stop you go to is the Colégio Militar/Luz station as it is right beside the ground. You can also get the yellow line to this station if you are coming from further north of the centre of the city. You can also get the train or the bus to the venue, with the bus numbers 703, 726, 729, 750, 765, 767, 768, and 799 all stopping near to the stadium. The specific stops you need to get off at are either Av. General Norton de Matos, the Estrada da Luz or the metro Colégio Militar.

The Estadio da Luz is found a fair way outside of Lisbons city centre, around 6km, and as such unless you bring your hiking boots, it's a bit far to walk. Luckily, there are great public transport options to take. From either the main station or different stations around the city – you can take the metro to either Colegio Militar/Luz or Alto dos Moinhos. Although Alto may be geographically closer to the ground, the safer walk is from Colegio Militar, with an offical footpath connecting the station to the stadium.
