The Britannia Stadium (I mean, err, the Bet365 Stadium) is a few miles outside of town, so you're going to have to travel somehow to find an interesting activity nearby. My recommendation is the Trentham Monkey Forest. It's a lovely conservationist area with wild monkeys which you can visit, see, learn about and even enjoy with a picnic if you like! It has seasonal opening times, but an afternoon with man's closest relative is an afternoon well spent.

Stoke is famous for Robbie Williams, Stoke FC and its pottery heritage, even the football club are known as The Potters, so my recommendation has to be the Gladstone Pottery Museum, I know, a pottery museum, but believe me, its actually a really informative and entertaining day out!If that doesn't sound good to you then head to 'Arial Extreme' - its an obstacle course high up in the trees that will certainly get the heart pumping and the adrenaline going!
