My father was present for the men’s and women’s Olympic hockey victory back in the 2010 Winter Games and passed away a year later almost to the date. My brother and I decided to attend a game together on the anniversary of the date he died and it seemed fitting to do it here – Olympics or not. We loved walking around the concourse and taking in all of the history which was definitely bittersweet considering our dad was here. The people sitting around us were super friendly and as we shared our story about our father being here during the Olympic Games all those years ago – they couldn’t have been more compassionate and inviting. We are hoping we can keep in touch.
