I’ll always remember a National vs. Dodgers game last year in which my uncle had given his tickets to my dad and I. My dad grew up a L.A., so we were rooting for opposing teams, but are both very casual fans. In fact, I was a little bummed I was missing the Wizards playoff game.
As fate would have it, it began to pour. Our seats were perfectly located in the first or second covered row about halfway up the second deck. Fans began to filter out after, but most stayed, either for restart of the action or to stay dry.
A few minutes later, stadium officials broadcasted the Wizards game on the jumbotron. Thousands remained for the second half of the game, cheering plays and booing bad calls.
So we enjoyed our whiskeys and watched through the downpour as the Wizards defeat the Pacers to move on to the next round of the playoffs!
