Best Pubs around DW Stadium?

DW Stadium is a venue in or near Wigan that is most often used for Soccer

For away fans visiting the DW, it's all about the Red Robin. It's an away-friendly watering hole which has the perfect vibe before a game: lots of excited chatter, plenty of smiles and comfortable chairs. Otherwise it's a 20-minute walk into town (not too bad) where there are a number of other options, most notably the Moon Under Water (a Wetherspoons, of course) which is cheap, busy and fun.

The DW is a fair way out of town - normally this would limit drinking options, especially for away fans, however Wigan Athletic have realized this and have created some great, spacious drinking areas. Away fans can find theirs outside the North Stand turnstiles. Here you can enjoy a pint as well as a cheeky sausage roll.Head over to the Red Robin - which is the most popular pub with fans, although their policy toward away fans can differ from game to game. If you fancy the walk from the town center there are a lot of options to choose from - including the Anvil Pub which is CAMRA listed, and a trusty Wetherspoons: The Moon under Water.
