Ipurua Municipal Stadium is a venue in Eibar
The Eibar supporters have been touted as the friendliest fans in the world. This may be an exaggeration, but it seems that the fans are still so crazily excited to be playing against some of the largest teams in the history of football that every minute spent at a game is something to be cherished. You can go there and have a great laugh as an away fan without fear of violence or feeling the need to hide your team colours. Superb crowd and great atmosphere.
It's a small stadium, but it's a modern one. The seats are comfortable and the views seem to be pretty good from wherever it is you are sitting. Saying that, you'll be doing very well to find a ticket at all as a visitor. Still reeling from their graduation to La Liga, tickets are rarer than diamonds and seem to be snapped up the instant they are released. If you have managed to wrangle some tickets, the proximity of all the seats to the pitch means that you are guaranteed to be in the thick of action. Enjoy it!
It's not clear whether or not food and drink are currently being sold in the stadium itself, with many fans choosing to enjoy a nice meal and a drink in the town before heading to the stadium proper. There are plenty of eateries nearby which offer far superior food to that usually found in football stadiums in Europe.
Eibar may be a small town, but like most parts of Spain, their restaurants are gastronomically superior. Described as a hidden treasure by some visiting locals, Artola Restaurante is known for its gorgeous servings of fresh seafood. For a truly "local culture” experience, go to Asador Azitain. It is owned and run by a mother and her two sons, and offers spectacular grilled meats like you may never have tasted before.
Being a small, local stadium, it is unsurprising that no major car parking facilities are available on-site. However, there is a fair amount of street parking available so if you arrive nice and early you should have little trouble getting a space within easy walking distance. In terms of public transport, Eibar train station is only 1.5 km from the stadium which translates as less than 15 minutes on foot. The Ardantza station is only 700m from the stadium, if you really don't feel like walking far.
One really cool option is the Museo de la Industria Armera, which is a fantastic industrial history museum displaying all sorts of technologies and developments from Eibar over its history. The region has a very strong manufacturing background, and this is displayed eloquently and engagingly through the exhibits at the museum. It is free to enter and offers a fascinating way to explore the town away from the noise and adrenaline of football.
Even in this relatively small Spanish town, there is an Irish bar with cold beer that is just waiting for you to knock on their doors on a matchday. O'Hara's is just down the road from the stadium and a great option for those pre-match beverages. Bar Ipurua and Paulaner Bier Haus are even closer to the venue, just a stone's throw away. These are both well equipped to handle fans on the big day, and there's no reason not to pay them a visit for some nice drinks and snacks.
Eibar's success is the kind of story you just couldn't write. Their rise to prominence in La Liga was probably even less likely than Leicester's shock win of the English Premier League. As such, you should definitely visit the club shop before you leave – not only will any funds help this team grow within a major league, but a piece of apparel or a trinket will act as a great reminder of watching football with some of the most passionate fans in the world. Plus, the kit isn't that expensive.
